The Crimson Queen Japanese Maple is a stunning cultivar of Acer palmatum known for its cascading, weeping habit and deep red foliage. It is a popular choice for adding a touch of elegance and drama to gardens and landscapes.
This variety typically grows to a height of 6 to 10 feet with a spread of 8 to 12 feet. Its leaves emerge in spring with a vibrant crimson color, which holds well throughout the summer months. In the fall, the foliage often transitions to a rich burgundy or scarlet, creating a striking display of autumn colors.
To ensure the health and beauty of your Crimson Queen Japanese Maple, it is best to plant it in a location with partial shade to protect it from intense sunlight. The soil should be well-draining and enriched with organic matter. Regular watering is important, especially during dry periods, to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
